NATURE AND EMOTIONS

This project consists of hand casts and a painting of an eye.
It represents the emotional responses to environmental change. The eye (a self portrait of sorts) stares up at a bright yellow hand cast (also my own).
The eye features expressive drips and splashes to convey the melancholic emotions as well as a subtle tear and swelling.
The hand is in a volatile, unnatural and poisonous colour akin to sulfur and representational of technological expansion and the environmental costs of the factories pushing this. Just like the eye, it is my hand shaped as a gun pointing back at me. Is humanities thirst for progress only setting us back and putting us in more danger?
